Robin B. Taub is a principal and founding member of the law firm, Paradiso, Taub, Sinay & Owel, P.C., located in Bethesda, Maryland. She has been practicing law since 1983, with a specialty in family law/mediation since 1990. Over the past few years, Ms. Taub has developed a successful collaborative law practice as well. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, and law degree from Duke University. After law school, Ms. Taub clerked for the Honorable Rosalyn B. Bell, Court of Special Appeals in Maryland. She then practiced in Seattle, Washington and Washington, D.C. in the areas of complex civil litigation and commercial transactions before specializing in family law in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Ms. Taub is known for her negotiating skills and her ability to resolve complicated and financially sophisticated cases in an amicable manner. She has worked extensively with teenagers while serving on the Board of Directors for the JCC of Greater Washington as Chairman of the Teen Committee. Ms. Taub also served as Vice President of the JCC from 2005-2007 and as Co-Chairman of the Board Governance Task Force from 2006 to present. She has spoken at Duke University's Career Conference for graduating seniors about prospective careers and "women in the law". Ms. Taub is a certified Mediator and Arbitrator and is trained in Collaborative Law.
Ms. Taub is one of the founding members of the Maryland Collaborative Divorce Association and is currently Co-Chairman of the Ethics Committee for the Maryland Collaborative Practice Council. She is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the DC Academy of Collaborative Professionals. The Circuit Court of Montgomery County and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia frequently appoint Ms. Taub as the ADR mediator for domestic relations cases and as a Best Interest Attorney, (formerly Guardian Ad Litem). Ms. Taub has lectured on various domestic relations topics. She was named among the top Family Law attorneys in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area by Washingtonian Magazine in 2000, 2004, and 2009 and has been named as a top family law attorney by the Maryland and D.C. Super Lawyers Magazine, Washington D.C. Best Lawyers and Best Lawyers of America.
