I help individuals and couples with the financial aspects of separation and divorce. My 18-plus years of experience in divorce financial planning, fee-only financial planning, income taxation, and accounting have prepared me to help you with this process. I have assisted many clients and their attorneys in the collaborative divorce process as a financial neutral.  I am one of the most experienced collaborative financial neutrals in the MD/DC/VA metropolitan area.

My experience related to financial agreements in the collaborative process includes: budgets, cash flow projections, income tax projections, retirement projections, analysis for child support and/or spousal support, division of property, non-marital property allocations, investment reviews, assessing the tax impact of proposals, and other financial analysis related to collaborative agreements. 

I was formerly Director, Financial Planning & Litigation Support at May & Barnhard, PC in Bethesda, Maryland.  Prior to that position, I had my own accounting business and also worked for local CPA firms.  Before becoming a CPA, I worked in the mental health field in various capacities.  My interest in problem resolution and interpersonal communication started with my graduate education in Counseling & Guidance and that work.  My prior experiences help me understand the emotional part of this process, and help me provide the information and support you need to understand your financial circumstances and make informed decisions within the collaborative process.
